KATHMANDU: The Communication and Information Technology Minister Bikram Timilsina on Monday said not a single rupee collected from taxpayers would be misused, pledging that the ministry would spend its allocated budget with transparency, accountability, and fiscal discipline.

Responding to queries during discussions on his ministry’s budget in the National Assembly, Timilsina said the budget would be utilized strictly in line with approved objectives and standards, while the government remains committed to good governance and prudent public spending.

The minister said the government has adopted a policy to develop the Security Printing Center into a self-reliant, professional, and commercially sustainable institution. He said the center has produced and supplied 2.4 million smart driving licenses and 3.5 million postage stamps during the current fiscal year.

Timilsina added that strengthening the country’s communication infrastructure remains a key priority, saying investments in the sector will contribute to higher revenue, expanded technical capacity, and enhanced national security over the long term.
