NEPSE falls by 30.09 points with Rs 4.826 billion turnover

KATHMANDU: On the third trading day of the week today (Wednesday), the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) decreased by double digits. Having fluctuated throughout the day, the NEPSE finally closed down by 30.09 points. The turnover amount of the NEPSE, however, increased compared to the previous day.

The NEPSE had increased by 24.57 points on Tuesday, while it had decreased by 26.29 points on Monday. Decreasing by 1.13 percent compared to the previous trading day, the NEPSE stopped at 2621.59 points today.

On today’s day, the Sensitive Index also decreased by 3.93 points and stopped at 456.68 points. In terms of percentage, this is 0.85 percent lower compared to the previous trading day. Similarly, the float index decreased by 1.13 percent and the sensitive float index decreased by 0.91 percent.

In the stock market on Wednesday, at least 8,463,015 shares were bought and sold in 77,627 transactions of 362 companies. According to this, a turnover of Rs 4.826 billion took place on Wednesday.

A turnover of Rs 4.40 billion had taken place on Tuesday. On Monday, however, a turnover of Rs 3.557 billion had taken place.

In the stock market today, the share prices of only 25 companies increased. While the share prices of 247 companies went down, the share prices of five companies remained stable. Out of the 13 groups traded on the NEPSE today (Wednesday), only the index of the mutual fund group increased, while the indices of the remaining 12 groups went down.

According to this, on the NEPSE on Wednesday, the sub-indices of Commercial Bank decreased by 1.18 percent, Development Bank by 1.46 percent, Finance by 1.43 percent, Hotels and Tourism by 1.29 percent, Hydropower by 1.70 percent, Investment by 0.39 percent, Life Insurance by 0.84 percent, Manufacturing and Processing by 1.13 percent, and Microfinance by 0.81 percent.

Similarly, while the index of the mutual fund group increased by 0.11 percent, the sub-indices of non-life insurance decreased by 1.07 percent, others by 1.15 percent, and the trading group by 0.21 percent.

On the NEPSE on Wednesday, the investors of NMB Debenture earned 5.52 percent. The investors of Corporate Development Bank lost 13.41 percent in share price.

In terms of turnover amount, KBL Debenture remained in the lead today. On Wednesday, a turnover of Rs 623.9 million for this company took place.

Similarly, in terms of the number of shares traded as well, KBL Debenture itself remained ahead today. On Wednesday, at least 497,041 shares of this company were traded. Its final trading price today was maintained at 1290 Rs per share.
