KATHMANDU: Nepal Police Headquarters has issued a serious clarification regarding recent media reports and social media commentary concerning the transfer and deputation of senior police officers stationed at the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA).
In an official press release issued today by the Secretariat of the Inspector General of Police, the law enforcement agency strongly refuted allegations that the personnel movements were politically motivated or linked to ongoing high-profile cases.
According to the central police spokesperson, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Abi Narayan Kafle, the transfers were executed by the Personnel Administration Branch of the Human Resource Development Department on July 2 and 3 strictly in accordance with prevailing legal frameworks and established institutional guidelines.
“The recent deputation and transfer of these senior officers is entirely a routine administrative process carried out for regular human resource management,” the official statement read. “It bears no connection to any specific incident, investigation, complaint, or external matter.”
The headquarters expressed deep concern over the dissemination of unverified information, noting that speculative reporting undermines public trust in state institutions and unnecessarily politicizes standard administrative functions.
Nepal Police has urged all media outlets, journalists, and social media users to refrain from broadcasting misleading or speculative content without official verification.
The agency reiterated its unwavering commitment to transparency, institutional fairness, and upholding the rule of law in all its administrative and operational duties.
