KATHMANDU: On the fourth trading day of the week today, Thursday, the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) decreased by double digits. Following fluctuations throughout the day, NEPSE ultimately closed down by 19.67 points. The turnover amount of NEPSE also decreased compared to the previous day.
On Wednesday, NEPSE had decreased by 30.09 points, while it had increased by 24.57 points on Tuesday and decreased by 26.29 points on Monday. Decreasing by 0.75 percent compared to the previous trading day, NEPSE stopped at 2601.92 points today.
Today, the sensitive index also decreased by 2.49 points to stop at 454.19 points. In terms of percentage, this is 0.54 percent less compared to the previous trading day. Similarly, the float index decreased by 0.67 percent and the sensitive float index decreased by 0.58 percent.
In the stock market on Thursday, at least 8,751,380 shares were bought and sold 57,864 times across 361 companies. Accordingly, a turnover of Rs 4.611 billion was recorded on Thursday.

A turnover of Rs 4.826 billion was recorded on Wednesday. A turnover of Rs 4.40 billion was recorded on Tuesday, while a turnover of Rs 3.557 billion was recorded on Monday.
Today, the share prices of only 42 companies increased on NEPSE. While the share prices of 229 companies went down, the share prices of six companies remained stable. Out of the 13 groups traded on NEPSE today, Thursday, the indices of all groups decreased and turned red.
Accordingly, the indices of Commercial Bank dropped by 0.50 percent, Development Bank by 1.11 percent, Finance by 0.62 percent, Hotels and Tourism by 0.76 percent, Hydro Power by 0.70 percent, Investment by 0.95 percent, Life Insurance by 0.61 percent, and Manufacturing and Processing by 1.19 percent, and the Microfinance subgroup dropped by 0.69 percent on Thursday. Similarly, the sub-indices of mutual funds by 1.16 percent, non-life insurance by 0.66 percent, others by 0.18 percent, and the Trading group decreased by 2.36 percent.
On Thursday, investors of Upakar Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha earned 12.68 percent. Investors of the BOK Debenture lost 8.66 percent of their share value.
In terms of transaction amount, the GBIME Debenture held the top position today. On Thursday, it recorded a transaction of Rs 355.8 million. Similarly, based on the number of traded shares, the debenture of Asian Life Insurance Company Limited led today. On Thursday, at least 498,960 shares of this company were traded. Its final trading price today was maintained at Rs 239 per share.
