KATHMANDU: Widespread floods and landslides triggered by continuous torrential rainfall have disrupted major highways and road networks across Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces.
Key routes, including the Mechi Highway in Ilam, the Kanti Lokpath in Makwanpur and Lalitpur, the Kaligandaki Corridor in Baglung, and the Bheri Corridor in Rukum Paschim, remain completely blocked by debris and rising waters.
Additionally, travel along the BP Highway’s Khurkot–Nepalthok section has been suspended due to high flood risks, while parts of the Mid-Hill Highway in Bhojpur are limited to one-way traffic.
Teams from the Department of Roads and security forces are deployed with heavy machinery to clear the obstructions and restore traffic safely as weather conditions allow.
