POKHARA: A demonstration was held in Pokhara on Saturday afternoon to demand justice for Ganesh Nepali, who passed away after attempting self-immolation in front of the Department of Passports in Tripureshwar, Kathmandu.

Youths gathered spontaneously at Manab Adhikar Chok in Chipleadhunga, Pokhara, to voice their anger and dissatisfaction over the government’s policies and treatment of ordinary citizens.

Protesters carried placards demanding justice for Ganesh Nepali, shouting slogans such as “Give Justice to Ganesh Nepali,” “Stop Ruling Cruelly Over the People,” “Stop Kicking the Poor in the Stomach,” and “End Traffic Terror Against Unemployed Youths.”

They also called for an immediate end to state policies and actions that push unemployed youths into deep despair and anguish.

Demonstrators chanted slogans against the government, demanding immediate solutions to the systemic issues facing unemployed young people in the country.

The 25-year-old Ganesh Nepali, a resident of Soru Rural Municipality-1 in Mugu, had poured petrol on his body and set himself on fire in front of the Department of Passports on Thursday afternoon.

He sustained critical injuries and passed away during treatment on Friday.
