TOKYO: Nvidia on Thursday announced a partnership with Japan’s Noetra Corp. to build the world’s first national artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure dedicated to physical AI, aimed at accelerating innovation in robotics, manufacturing, logistics, healthcare, and telecommunications.

Nvidia’s Vera central processing unit

The AI factory will be powered by 13,750 NVIDIA Vera CPUs and 27,500 NVIDIA Rubin GPUs, using the company’s latest AI factory architecture to support large-scale AI model training and deployment. It will serve as the computing backbone for Japan’s FRONTia Project, a government-backed initiative launched by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) to develop advanced multimodal AI models for robotics and industrial applications.
