KATHMANDU: Nepali film Gauthali and Hollywood epic The Odyssey was released in theaters across the country on Friday.

Directed by Kapil Rijal, Gauthali is a 140-minute social drama starring Simran Khadka and Arun Chhetri. The film follows the story of a teenage girl married at a young age who struggles to pursue her education.

Directed by Christopher Nolan, The Odyssey also opened on Friday after receiving an adult certificate in the country. The 172-minute action-adventure film stars Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, and Robert Pattinson and is based on the Greek mythological journey of Odysseus following the Trojan War.
