KATHMANDU: The CPN (UML) Bagmati Province parliamentary party has decided to adopt a “wait and watch” strategy regarding its ongoing support for the provincial government.

Following a parliamentary party meeting held in Kathmandu on Monday, the party chose not to immediately withdraw from the government or recall its support.

According to one UML leader, the status quo will remain for the time being. This decision follows a recent cabinet reshuffle on July 16, where Chief Minister Indra Bahadur Baniya stripped most UML ministers of their portfolios, rendering them ministers without portfolio.

The move comes as top leaders from various political parties continue high-level dialogues to navigate shifts in the ruling coalition.
