KATHMANDU: Krishi Samagri Company Limited (KSCL) has begun distributing urea and DAP (di-ammonium phosphate) fertilizer in Dhanusha under the buffer quota allocated by the Madhesh Provincial Government to ease shortages during the paddy planting season.

The fertilizer is being distributed based on recommendations from local governments. KSCL officials said the supply of DAP has started to improve and that additional consignments of both urea and DAP are expected to arrive within days, helping meet farmers’ demand.

During the fiscal year 2025/26, the Janakpurdham office distributed 18,745.1 metric tons of agricultural inputs, including 11,241.35 metric tons of urea, 6,963.3 metric tons of DAP, 379.55 metric tons of potash, and 160.9 metric tons of agricultural lime. The office said most of the fertilizer received during the year has already been supplied to farmers.

KSCL said fertilizer stocks have been managed throughout the peak paddy planting season and that coordination is continuing to ensure additional supplies reach farmers as needed.
