KATHMANDU: The Patan High Court has issued an order to send businessman Shankar Lal Agrawal to pre-trial detention.

A joint bench of Justices Arjun Prasad Koirala and Kabi Prasad Neupane issued the order on Thursday to hold him in pre-trial detention for investigation regarding a banking offense case.

Agrawal, a resident of Kathmandu Metropolitan City-4, had been absconding since the date of the verdict in a case under the Banking Offenses and Punishment Act, 2008, in which his son Sulav Agrawal and Deepak Bhatt are also named as defendants.

He was apprehended yesterday (Wednesday) from Dillibazar, Kathmandu, by the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of the Nepal Police.
