KATHMANDU:  The Meteorological Forecasting Division reports active monsoon conditions nationwide, with the monsoon trough situated north of its average position in the west and near normal in the east.

Light to moderate rain is currently falling across parts of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces under generally cloudy skies.

Throughout the day, cloudy conditions will persist across hilly and mountain regions, as well as the Terai areas of Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpashchim, while Madhesh and Koshi Terai experience partly cloudy skies.

Moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is expected across several areas, with heavy rain likely in isolated hilly parts of Gandaki, Lumbini, and Karnali during the day, extending to isolated areas of Bagmati, Gandaki, and Koshi by tonight.
