Finance Minister Wagle directs officials to meet Rs 1.6 trillion revenue target

KATHMANDU: Finance Minister Swarnim Wagle has directed the customs and internal revenue administrations to mobilize effectively in order to achieve the government’s revenue collection target of Rs 1.6 trillion.

During a meeting at the ministry with the newly appointed Director General of the Department of Customs, Yam Lal Bhusal, the Director General of the Inland Revenue Department, Bhishma Kumar Bhusal, and the Deputy Director General of the Department of Customs, Prem Prasad Acharya, the Finance Minister placed special emphasis on controlling revenue leakage, increasing voluntary tax compliance, and creating an encouraging environment for taxpayers.

He urged the officials to perform their duties with honesty, transparency, and accountability to make ‘mission 1.6 trillion’ a success while maintaining a favorable business environment and keeping employee morale high.

Furthermore, Finance Minister Wagle committed that the ministry would provide all necessary policy and administrative support required to attain the revenue target.
