Govt. collects 75.17% of annual revenue target with 19 days left

KATHMANDU: The government has collected Rs 1.112 trillion, or 75.17 percent, of its Rs 1.480 trillion annual revenue target with 19 days remaining in the current fiscal year, according to the Financial Comptroller General Office (FCGO).

To meet the target, the government must collect an additional Rs 367.51 billion, requiring an average daily revenue collection of about Rs 19.34 billion.

Tax revenue has reached Rs 1.10 trillion, or 76.20 percent of the Rs 1.325 trillion target. Non-tax revenue stands at Rs 102.324 billion against a target of Rs 154.41 billion. Grants totaled Rs 24.111 billion, achieving 45.11 percent of the Rs 53.446 billion target. The government also received Rs 6.505 billion under other receipts, bringing total receipts to Rs 1.143 trillion, or 74.54 percent of the annual target.

Meanwhile, total government expenditure has reached Rs 1.404 trillion, equivalent to 71.53 percent of the annual budget, including Rs 5.368 billion spent on Friday alone.

Current expenditure has reached Rs 949.759 billion, or 80.42 percent of the Rs 1.180 trillion allocation. Capital expenditure stands at Rs 142.236 billion, or 34.87 percent of the Rs 407.888 billion target, while financial management expenditure has reached Rs 312.992 billion, or 83.41 percent of the Rs 375.242 billion allocation.
