KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) is issuing a one-year bond worth Rs 25 billion today, titled ‘Nepal Rastra Bank Bond 2027’.
According to a notice issued today by the Monetary Management Department of the central bank, the bond will be issued through an online bidding system, with the bidding window open until 3:00 PM today.
The bond will be issued based on the interest rate determined through the bidding process.
As per the notice, the bond will have a maturity period of one year, and the principal amount will be repaid on July 3, 2027.
Meanwhile, interest payments will be made on a semi-annual basis.
According to the central bank, bids can be placed for a minimum of Rs 50 million, and in multiples of Rs 50 million thereafter, up to the total called amount.
Provision has been made allowing the bond to be used as collateral at Nepal Rastra Bank as well as other banks and financial institutions.
