NEPSE closes at 2754.48 points, turnover crosses Rs 3 billion

KATHMANDU: On Wednesday, the third trading day of the week, the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) has increased by double digits. Today, along with NEPSE, the trading amount has also increased.

The NEPSE has increased by 30.08 points on Wednesday. Yesterday (Tuesday), however, NEPSE had decreased by 6.51 points. On Monday as well, NEPSE had decreased by 1.03 points. NEPSE, which increased by 1.10 percent compared to the previous trading day, closed at 2754.48 points.

On today’s day, the sensitive index also increased by 3.68 points and closed at 471.06 points. On a percentage basis, this is 0.78 percent more compared to the previous trading day. Similarly, the float index increased by 1.03 percent, and the sensitive float index increased by 0.82 percent.

In the stock market on Wednesday, at least 10,661,476 shares were bought and sold in 52,336 transactions of 346 companies. According to this, a transaction of Rs 3.82 billion took place on Wednesday.

A transaction of Rs 3.087 billion had taken place on Tuesday, while a transaction of Rs 2.45 billion took place on Monday.

In the stock market today, the share prices of 248 companies increased. While the share prices of 21 companies went down, the share price of one company remained stable. Out of 13 groups traded in NEPSE today, the indices of all groups increased and became green.

According to this, on Wednesday, the index of the Commercial Bank group increased by 0.73 percent, Development Bank by 0.44 percent, Finance by 1.40 percent, Hotel and Tourism by 1.89 percent, Hydropower by 1.89 percent, Investment by 1.15 percent, Life Insurance by 0.97 percent, and the Manufacturing and Processing group’s index increased by 1.15 percent.

Similarly, the sub-indices of microfinance increased by 0.62 percent, mutual funds by 0.82 percent, non-life insurance by 0.44 percent, others by 1.09 percent, and the trading group increased by 1.51 percent.

In NEPSE on Wednesday, the investors of Upper Lohore Khola Hydropower Company made an income of 15 percent. That is, a positive circuit was applied to the share price of Upper Lohore Khola. Similarly, the investors of Corporate Development Bank lost 13.26 percent in share price.

On the basis of trading amount as well, the Corporate Development Bank remained in the foremost position. Today, a transaction of Rs 183.5 million of the Corporate took place.

Likewise, on the basis of the number of shares traded, Prabhu Smart Fund remained ahead today as well. On Wednesday, at least 839,750 units of its shares were bought and sold.

On Tuesday, however, at least 1,050,830 units of its shares were bought and sold. Its final trading price, meanwhile, remained maintained at Rs 13.10 per unit.
