KATHMANDU: The Office of the Problematic Cooperative Management Committee has started making public the names of large borrowers of troubled cooperatives.
According to the committee, the names of major debtors from 10 cooperatives declared problematic have been published today.
The committee said names of large borrowers from other troubled cooperatives will be released gradually in the coming days.
Issuing a notice, the committee has urged the concerned borrowers to contact its office as soon as possible and settle their outstanding loans.
It warned that otherwise recovery will be carried out in accordance with the law.
The committee also stated that lists of other borrowers will be published in phases, and has again urged them to come forward and clear their dues promptly.
The cooperatives whose large borrowers’ names were made public today include Ghedung Multipurpose Cooperative, Hamro Sagarmatha Multipurpose Cooperative, Tapai Hamro Multipurpose Cooperative, Nagarik Kalyan Multipurpose Cooperative, Ideal Yamuna Multipurpose Cooperative, Tulsi Multipurpose Cooperative, Nepal Financial Cooperative, Oriental Cooperative, Gautam Shree Cooperative, and Nepal Cooperative Financial.
The committee has stated that the list of borrowers is being published accordingly.
