KATHMANDU: A man lost his life after the car he was driving caught fire while in motion in Kirtipur on Tuesday.

The incident took place near Chandani Chowk in Tyanglaphat when a Kia car (Ba 5 Cha 3038) was engulfed in flames. Police said the driver was unable to get out of the vehicle before the fire spread and was later found dead inside.

According to District Police Range, Kathmandu, the victim was discovered still strapped into the driver’s seat with the seatbelt fastened. His identity has yet to be confirmed.

Police are investigating the cause of the fire.
