DHANKUTA: Police have seized 775 kilograms of marijuana being transported in a mini truck in Dhankuta. A team of police arrested one individual along with the contraband from Kolbote in Sangurigadhi Rural Municipality-6 on Monday morning.

The arrested individual has been identified as 33-year-old Parikshan Kunwar, a permanent resident of Sanne, Pakhribas Municipality-1, currently residing in Aampgachhi, Itahari Sub-Metropolitan City-1, Sunsari. A police team deployed from the Area Police Office, Bhedetar, intercepted the mini truck (Ko 1 Kha 4635) heading towards Dharan from Dhankuta and took Kunwar, the driver, into custody.

According to the District Police Office, Dhankuta, the marijuana was found packed in 25 bundles inside the mini truck. The police team from Bhedetar had been mobilized after receiving a tip-off about the smuggling of marijuana.
