KATHMANDU: Bhutanese Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay has congratulated Rabi Lamichhane, chairman of the Rashtriya Swatantra Party, and the party’s senior leader Balendra Shah (Balen) on receiving a massive mandate in the election held on March 5.

In a message posted on the social media platform X (Twitter), Prime Minister Tobgay also congratulated the Nepali people for successfully conducting the election.

“Congratulations to Mr. Balen Shah and Mr. Rabi Lamichhane on your landslide victory in Nepal’s general elections. I also congratulate the people of Nepal on the successful elections. I look forward to deepening the warm friendship between our two countries,” the Bhutanese prime minister wrote.

In his message, Tobgay also expressed hope that relations between Bhutan and Nepal would further strengthen under the upcoming government.
