Nepal, China discuss expanding cooperation in trade, connectivity and digital economy

KATHMANDU: A delegation led by Zhao Peng, Vice Chairman of the People’s Government of the Xizang Autonomous Region of the People’s Republic of China, paid a courtesy call on Nepal’s Minister for Foreign Affairs Shisir Khanal at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Kathmandu on Tuesday.

During the meeting, both sides discussed strengthening Nepal-China relations and expanding cooperation in connectivity, infrastructure development, cross-border trade, investment, agriculture, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the discussions also focused on promoting forward-looking collaboration in emerging sectors, including the digital economy, information and communication technology, and hydropower.

Officials from both countries reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing bilateral cooperation and advancing mutually beneficial partnerships across multiple sectors.
