KATHMANDU: German Ambassador to Nepal Udo Eugen Volz inaugurated a 500-kilowatt solar power system and a healthcare waste management facility at Dhulikhel Hospital on Wednesday, marking a new milestone in Nepal-Germany development cooperation.
The projects were launched in collaboration with Dhulikhel Hospital, Nepal’s Alternative Energy Promotion Centre (AEPC), and German development partners, including GIZ and KfW.
The solar power system is expected to provide reliable electricity for critical healthcare services, while the healthcare waste management facility will improve the treatment of infectious medical waste and strengthen environmental safety.
The initiatives support Nepal’s clean energy transition and efforts to enhance public health infrastructure. They also reflect the long-standing partnership between Nepal and Germany in the health and energy sectors, with a focus on sustainable development and community-based solutions.
