UAE Foreign Trade Minister calls on Foreign Minister Khanal

KATHMANDU: Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, the Minister of Foreign Trade of the United Arab Emirates, along with an accompanying delegation, paid a courtesy call on Minister for Foreign Affairs Shisir Khanal at the ministry today.

During the meeting, the two ministers exchanged views on strengthening bilateral relations between Nepal and the United Arab Emirates across a range of areas of mutual interest.

Discussions focused on expanding cooperation in trade, investment, artificial intelligence (AI), digital transformation, tourism, labor migration, infrastructure, and renewable energy, alongside increasing Sovereign Wealth Fund investment in Nepal’s priority sectors.

The foreign minister underscored the enduring friendship and growing cooperation between the two nations. He highlighted Nepal’s aspiration to make the upcoming Golden Jubilee celebration of their diplomatic relations a major milestone by securing UAE investments for various development projects in the country.

Additionally, the minister urged the UAE government to remove the requirement for further verification of police reports once they have been attested by Nepal’s Department of Consular Services.
