KATHMANDU: Five new films, including three Nepali productions, hit cinema halls across the country today, boosting competition at the domestic box office.
Nepali releases Malati Mangale, Lalibazar, and Guru Aama opened alongside Bollywood film Krishnavataram Part 1 and Hollywood action sequel Mortal Kombat Part 2.
Among the domestic titles, Lalibazar, starring Swastima Khadka, secured one of the largest nationwide show counts after a court cleared its release.
Malati Mangale, featuring Bijay Baral and Barsha Raut, also opened strongly.
Theater operators expect the fresh releases to further energize ticket sales following the recent success of Paral Ko Aago.
