KATHMANDU: Today marks the first Monday of Shrawan, the month considered most dear to Lord Shiva. Since early this morning, devotees have gathered at the holy Pashupatinath Temple to offer prayers and perform rituals.

A significant turnout of devotees has been observed since dawn at various Shiva temples across the country, including Pashupatinath. After worshipping at the temples, many devotees observe a day-long fast.
