KANCHANPUR: A free eye camp was recently held at Bhimdatta Municipality-9 Khalla Masetti in Kanchanpur.
The Mahendranagar Eye Hospital organized this initiative in the district’s remote areas, thanks to the generous support from Resunga Bank, as shared by Bir Singh Dhami, an officer at the hospital.
During the camp, the eyes of 128 individuals were examined, and 61 of them received free glasses. Dhami mentioned that 11 people who required eye surgery were referred to the Mahendranagar Eye Hospital for further treatment.
He noted, “The remote settlements in the district have been lacking access to health services, so there was a real need for a camp like this.” Additionally, free medicines were distributed to other beneficiaries who attended the camp.
The residents of Khalla Masetti face challenges due to the absence of a paved road, which leaves them without essential services like health care, education, electricity, and clean drinking water.
Situated 20 km north of Mahendranagar headquarters, this settlement can only be accessed by navigating a treacherous unpaved road. The locals are thrilled to have received these free services right in their own community.
