SURKHET: The ‘Karnali Cricket Cup 2026’ kicks off today in Birendranagar, Surkhet, and will run from June 28 to July 2.

Organized by the Karnali Province Cricket Association to develop regional talent and expand the sport, the tournament features teams from eight districts: Mugu, Kalikot, Jumla, Dailekh, Surkhet, Salyan, Jajarkot, and Rukum Paschim.

Matches will be played at the Kalunchowk Ground, with the winners taking home Rs 101,000 and the runners-up receiving Rs 51,000.

The event is funded with a Rs 2 million grant from the Karnali Province Sports Development Council.
