CHITWAN: Traffic has been completely disrupted on the Prithvi Highway after a landslide triggered by heavy rainfall blocked the road section at Phisling in Ichchhakamana Rural Municipality-2. The landslide occurred at 2:20 AM this morning, bringing vehicular movement to a standstill.

According to Rameshwar Paudel, Superintendent of Police and Chief of the District Police Office Chitwan, continuous efforts are underway to clear the debris and resume traffic operation by 8:00 AM this morning. The Narayangadh-Muglin road section and the Prithvi Highway area in Chitwan—which were closed on Sunday night due to high risks of floods and landslides caused by heavy rainfall—will fully reopen once the landslide debris is cleared.

As a precautionary measure against potential landslide hazards, the local administration had restricted the movement of vehicles on these stretches starting from 10:00 PM on Sunday night.
