KATHMANDU: Vehicular movements along different highways in the country have been affected following the monsoon-induced disasters from early morning today.
According to Nepal Police, vehicular movements are suspended after landslides, soil erosion and debris caused by torrential rain in different parts of the country.
The Nepal Police stated that the Khurkot-Nepalthok-Katunjebensi section of the BP Highway was closed for all vehicles from Thursday evening to this morning in view of possible flood risks.
Likewise, the Mechi Highway in Ilam Municipality-9 is completely obstructed as the road there remains muddy following the rain.
The Saljhandi-Dhorpatan road section at Panini Rural Municipality-2 in Arghakhanchi district is also fully obstructed after the landslip.
The police said that a landslide at Jirokilo in Bhotekoshi Rural Municipality-4 in Sindhupalchowk district obstructed vehicular movement along the Araniko Highway.
According to Nepal Police, vehicular movement has resumed along the Kanti Highway from this morning after clearing debris at Ghattepakha area in Bakaiya Rural Municipality-11 in Makawanpur district.
