DOLPA: Nepal Telecom has launched 4G service in Kagkot, the administrative center of Chharka Tangsong Rural Municipality in Dolpa, marking the first 4G coverage in Upper Dolpa.
According to company spokesperson Dr. Kamal Lamichhane, the service was enabled through a microwave radio link using a 4,200-meter-high tower in Mukot. With this expansion, Nepal Telecom’s 4G service has now reached 750 local levels nationwide.
The rollout is expected to improve communication for residents, trekkers, and tourists, while supporting services in health, education, administration, and security in the remote Himalayan region.
Nepal Telecom said it will continue expanding coverage to remaining unconnected areas, including parts of Dolpa and Manang.
