KATHMANDU: Nepal’s fixed investment is projected to grow by 18.6% this fiscal year, up from 10.9% last year, raising its GDP contribution from 23.57% to 26.26%.
Total fixed investment is estimated to reach Rs 1.73 trillion.
Driven by low capital expenditure across all three tiers of government, the public sector’s share of fixed investment dropped sharply to 26.5%, while the private sector expanded to claim a dominant 73.5% share.
Despite sluggish credit growth and low public spending, overall investment is set to increase by 15.6% this fiscal year—reaching Rs 2.10 trillion—consistently averaging 34.26% of the GDP over the past decade.
