KATHMANDU: At least four people were killed and 131 others injured in traffic accidents reported across Nepal over the past 24 hours, according to official data of Nepal Police.

The figures compiled by provincial police offices show that road accidents continued to cause significant casualties in several parts of the country, with Sudurpashchim Province recording the highest number of fatalities.

Sudurpashchim reported two deaths and 11 injuries, while Kathmandu Valley recorded one death and 25 injuries. Madhesh Province also reported one fatality along with 28 injuries.

Although no deaths were reported in Koshi Province, it recorded the highest number of injured persons nationwide, with 43 people hurt in various traffic incidents.

Lumbini Province reported 17 injuries, while Karnali recorded six injuries. Bagmati Province, excluding Kathmandu Valley, reported one injury and no fatalities. Gandaki Province was the only province to report no deaths or injuries during the reporting period.
