LALITPUR: A group of stock investors picketed the central office of the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) in Khumaltar on Tuesday morning, demanding immediate policy and infrastructural interventions following a continuous downturn in the secondary market.

The protest comes a day after the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index suffered a sharp drop of 30.60 points, sliding down to the 2,570 mark on Monday.

Demonstrating at the SEBON headquarters, the agitated investors called on the government and the regulatory body to stabilize and reform the capital market, warning that a collapse in the financial sector would trigger a severe domino effect across the wider economy.
