LALITPUR: Vehicular movement on the Kanti Lokpath highway has been temporarily closed due to continuous rainfall and monsoon-induced risks.

According to the District Administration Office (DAO), Lalitpur, in coordination with Makwanpur district, the operation of all public, private, and passenger vehicles traveling between Makwanpur and Sindhuli via Kanti Lokpath will be completely halted from 5:00 AM today until 6:00 AM tomorrow.

Assistant Chief District Officer Suprabha Dhungel Khanal informed that this decision was made keeping in mind the safety of passengers and vehicles, as most sections of the Kanti Lokpath are currently highly hazardous.

The District Administration Office has urged the general public, transport entrepreneurs, and related agencies to maintain high alertness to minimize human and material losses that could arise from disaster events.

Additionally, the administration has requested everyone to avoid travel except for essential work, and to regularly follow official updates regarding the weather and road conditions.

If any disaster-related incident or emergency arises, the administration has urged the public to immediately report it to the Lalitpur District Emergency Operation Center’s toll-free number 1234, the respective local levels, elected representatives, the nearest security agency, or the local administration.
