BARA: Home Minister Sudhan Gurung traveled to Nijgadh, Bara, to hold direct talks with loan shark victims who are on a “Justice March” from Janakpurdham to Kathmandu.
The marchers paused their journey at the Nijgadh Chamber of Commerce and Industry hall after receiving word of the minister’s arrival.
The victims, who began their protest six days ago after symbolically burning promissory notes, expressed deep frustration over state apathy, noting that Prime Minister Balendra Shah had failed to address their plight despite public assurances made prior to taking office.
Their key demands include the complete abolition of the exploitative promissory note system, the enactment of a special relief law, and the unconditional return of all seized movable and immovable assets.
