KATHMANDU: Two days after the Grade 12 exams began nationwide, the government has announced support measures for students affected by the demolition of unplanned settlements.

Hundreds of students preparing for the exams were displaced after squatters’ settlements were cleared last Saturday, disrupting their preparations.

The Office of the Controller of Examinations (Grade 12) under the National Examinations Board has said it will provide coordination and assistance to affected students, including a special support mechanism and coordination with relevant agencies.

This year, 418,008 students are sitting for the Grade 12 examinations across Nepal.
