KATHMANDU: The Nepal Landless and Unmanaged Settlers Protection Committee has announced a series of nationwide protest programs.

Organizing a press conference in Kathmandu on Monday, the committee unveiled its nationwide struggle programs, warning of protests if their 15-point demands are not met.

Their demands include deploying bulldozers only after providing alternative solutions, ensuring proper management along with land for those living in high-risk areas, and protecting the constitutional and human rights of citizens.

Committee Coordinator Khagendra Paudel stated that they were forced to launch a protest because bulldozers were being used against millions of landless settlers without providing alternative resettlement or proper management.

He also urged the government to grant land ownership at their current residential locations.

The committee further noted that deploying bulldozers without alternative arrangements against landless settlers who have been living there for years constitutes a violation of their human rights.
