KATHMANDU: The Prithvi Highway section along the Muglin–Pokhara road has been fully reopened after a landslide at Mushe Khola in Wards 1 of Byas Municipality, Tanahun, was cleared.
The highway, which was blocked from Wednesday afternoon at around 4 PM, resumed two-way traffic from 12:30 PM on Thursday.
According to District Police Office Tanahun, the road was blocked when rocks and mud slid down from above the roadway due to rainfall, leaving the route partially obstructed.
With coordination between the police team and the Road Division Office, the debris was removed on Thursday afternoon, restoring traffic flow in both directions.
Earlier, as the landslide made travel risky, the District Administration Office Tanahun had urged the public to remain on high alert and avoid non-essential travel.
Although the road is now open, authorities have warned that weather conditions may remain unstable. Drivers have been advised to exercise caution and strictly follow traffic rules.
