KATHMANDU: Today’s meeting of the National Assembly has endorsed proposals relating to several ordinances.
A proposal presented by lawmaker Samjhana Devkota that the ‘Cooperative (First Amendment) Ordinance 2026’ be not passed was rejected by a majority of lawmakers in the Upper House meeting.
Then, the meeting endorsed the Minister for Land Management, Cooperatives, Federal Affairs, and General Administration Pratibha Rawal’s proposal that the ‘Cooperative (First Amendment) Ordinance, 2026,’ be passed by majority.
Lawmaker Mina Singh Rakhal’s proposal that the ‘Ordinance to Amend Certain Nepal Acts Related to Health Science Institution, 2026,’ be rejected was rejected by majority.
Minister for Health and Food Hygiene Nisha Mehta’s proposal seeking passage of the ‘Ordinance to Amend Certain Nepal Acts Related to Health Sciences Academies, 2026,’ was endorsed by majority.
Likewise, a majority of lawmakers rejected NA member Ranjit Karna’s proposal seeking rejection of the ‘Public Procurement (Second Amendment) Ordinance, 2026’.
On behalf of Prime Minister Balendra Shah, Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Sobita Gautam’s proposal to approve the ‘Public Procurement (Second Amendment) Ordinance, 2083’ was approved by majority.
Lawmaker Roshni Meche’s proposal to reject the ‘Prevention of Money Laundering (Third Amendment) Ordinance, 2083’ was rejected by the meeting with a majority.
Finance Minister Dr Swarnim Wagle’s proposal to approve the ‘Prevention of Money Laundering (Prevention) (Third Amendment) Ordinance, 2026’ was approved by majority.
On behalf of Prime Minister Shah, Law Minister Gautam presented the Tharu Commission’s annual report 2081/82 in the meeting.
NA’s next meeting shall take place at 1.15 pm on June 25.
