Nepal Rastra Bank (Third Amendment) Bill, 2026 unanimously passed

KATHMANDU: Today’s meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR) unanimously passed the proposal seeking consideration over the Nepal Rastra Bank (Third Amendment) Bill, 2026.

Presenting the bill for decision, Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal announced that the proposal was unanimously endorsed.

Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle had tabled the proposal seeking the Nepal Rastra Bank (Third Amendment), Bill 2026 be considered.

Lawmakers, including Dr. Pushpa Raj Kandel, Shradda Kunwar, Samikshya Banskota, Guru Prasad Baral, Aren Rai, Leema Adhikari Acharya, Kamal Subedi and Krishna Hari Budhathoki had aired their opinion.

Finance Minister Dr. Wagle said it was necessary to introduce the bill to make Rastra Bank an autonomous and independently performing institution.
