KATHMANDU: On Tuesday, today, the second trading day of the week, the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index has increased by a single digit. Remaining volatile throughout the day, the NEPSE index finally closed up by 6.11 points. The trading volume of NEPSE also increased compared to the previous day.
The NEPSE index had decreased by 30.60 points on Monday. Increasing by 0.23 percent compared to the previous trading day, the NEPSE index closed at 2,576.29 points today.
Today, the Sensitive Index also increased by 0.79 points to close at 451.34 points. In terms of percentage, this is 0.17 percent higher compared to the previous trading day. Similarly, the float index increased by 0.18 percent and the sensitive float index increased by 0.13 percent.
In the stock market on Tuesday, at least 18,293,596 shares were bought and sold through 53,854 transactions of 383 companies. According to this, a transaction worth Rs 8.417 billion took place on Tuesday. On Monday, a transaction worth Rs 7.468 billion had taken place.

On the NEPSE today, the share prices of 164 companies rose. While the share prices of 101 companies declined, the share prices of 10 companies remained stable. Out of the 13 subgroups traded on the NEPSE today (Tuesday), the index of the Manufacturing and Processing subgroup decreased, while the indices of the remaining 12 subgroups increased.
According to this, on the NEPSE on Tuesday, the indices of commercial banks increased by 0.09 percent, development banks by 0.29 percent, finance by 0.51 percent, hotels and tourism by 0.07 percent, hydropower by 0.27 percent, investment by 0.54 percent, and life insurance subgroups increased by 0.37 percent. The index of the Manufacturing and Processing subgroup decreased by 0.18 percent.
Similarly, the sub-indices of microfinance decreased by 0.07 percent, mutual funds by 0.61 percent, non-life insurance by 0.20 percent, others by 0.15 percent, and trading subgroups increased by 1.47 percent.
On the NEPSE on Tuesday, investors of Kamana Sewa Bikas Bank debentures earned 10.22 percent. Meanwhile, investors of Samudayik Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha lost 8.10 percent in share price.
Based on transaction volume, KBL Debenture remained at the top today. On Tuesday, it had a transaction worth Rs 527.1 million.
Similarly, based on the number of shares traded, RBB Mutual Fund (RBB Focus 40) was at the forefront today. On Tuesday, at least 2,451,040 units of its shares were traded. Its final trading price today was maintained at Rs 9.30 per unit.
