BANKE: Banke District recorded a total of 13,442 invalid votes across its three constituencies in the March 5 House of Representatives election, according to District Election Office Chief Tek Bahadur Shahi.
Despite voter education efforts, many ballots were invalidated due to multiple marks, use of thumbprints, or stamps placed incorrectly on symbols. In Constituency 1, 4,085 votes were invalid out of 74,992 cast; Constituency 2 had 5,306 invalid votes from 72,007; and Constituency 3 recorded 4,051 invalid votes from 74,310. The highest number of invalid votes was in Constituency 2.
Out of 350,371 registered voters, 221,309 votes were cast. In comparison, the 2022 election in Banke saw 15,335 invalid votes.
In the proportional category, the Rashtriya Swatantra Party (RSP) led in Constituency 1 with 34,382 votes, followed by the Nepali Congress with 14,224, CPN (UML) with 10,320, Nepali Communist Party with 5,843, and Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) with 4,284 votes.
