KATHMANDU: Former Crown Prince Paras Shah had the battery of his implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) replaced at Norvic International Hospital on Thursday, a doctor involved in the procedure confirmed.
ICDs are typically used for patients with weakened heart muscles or a history of cardiac arrest. The device helps regulate the heart’s rhythm and ensures it beats safely.
The former crown prince was admitted to the hospital at 8 a.m. for the procedure. Following the battery replacement, he remains under observation and will continue to receive monitored care at Norvic Hospital over the next few days.
