KATHMANDU: The government has shared its achievements from the first 100 days in office, revealing some impressive results, including a whopping 20 billion rupees saved by trimming down the number of ministries.

In a press conference held today at the Office of the Prime Minister in Singha Durbar, government spokesperson and Minister for Education and Sports, Sasmit Pokharel highlighted the accomplishments made under the leadership of Prime Minister Balendra Shah.

One of the key points he mentioned was the reduction of federal ministries, which has now been cut down to 18, aligning with the promises made in the Rastriya Swatantra Party’s election manifesto.

Minister Pokharel noted that this restructuring is expected to save around 20 billion rupees each year. He also emphasized that by cutting unnecessary expenses and enhancing efficiency—like dissolving trade unions linked to political parties and student organizations—the government is sending a strong message about its commitment to reforms.
