JANAKPUR: Madhesh Province Chief Minister Krishna Prasad Yadav is seeking a vote of confidence today.
A provincial assembly meeting has been called for 1:00 PM to conduct the voting process.
Chief Minister Yadav is taking the vote of confidence after the Janamat Party withdrew its support for the government on May 5.
The process, which was previously scheduled for May 15, had been postponed due to internal dissatisfaction within the Nepali Congress and indecision within the Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) Nepal.
Ahead of the vote of confidence, the political coalition in Madhesh has shifted.
Leaving JSP Nepal out of the government, the Communist Party of Nepal (UML) has joined the ruling coalition.
Chief Minister Yadav has dismissed three ministers from JSP Nepal and appointed CPN (UML)’s Mohammad Samir as a minister without portfolio.
