KATHMANDU: The outgoing Acting President of the Nepali Congress, Purna Bahadur Khadka, has called a meeting of his faction today.

The meeting is scheduled to begin at 2:00 PM at Khadka’s residence in Golfutar.

Former office-bearers and leaders aligned with Sher Bahadur Deuba faction are expected to participate in the discussions.

The meeting will also see the participation of top leaders and newly elected office-bearers from the rival faction who were chosen during the 14th General Convention.

According to sources, the gathering is expected to make a final decision regarding organizing a national assembly in Kathmandu.

Additionally, the leaders will deliberate on the 7-point response that Khadka recently sent to the establishment faction of the party.

According to party leader Prakash Sharan Mahat, the meeting was called to review the gatherings recently concluded by the Deuba faction across all seven provinces.

Furthermore, the leaders will formulate a strategic roadmap on how to move forward, following the establishment faction’s apparent reluctance to resolve the internal disputes that have emerged within the party after the special general convention.
