KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress has decided to suspend its Bara District President, Rajesh Raya Yadav, from his duties until a final decision is reached. The decision was made during a meeting of the party’s disciplinary committee at the central office in Sanepa on Thursday, following Yadav’s failure to respond to a clarification request.
The committee had sought an explanation regarding complaints that he had actively worked to defeat the party’s official candidate during the House of Representatives election, leading to his suspension on grounds of disciplinary violation.
In the same meeting, the disciplinary committee addressed complaints of non-cooperation against other party leaders during the parliamentary elections. Following an investigation, Sarlahi Provincial Assembly members Shakuntidevi Mahara, Kaushal Kishor Raya, and Jangilal Raya were directed to remain fully committed to the party’s constitution and regulations, with instructions to fulfill their responsibilities diligently so that no further grievances arise.
Meanwhile, Bara District Committee Vice-President Amirilal Raut (Pal) was acquitted of all charges after Disciplinary Committee Coordinator Taraman Gurung confirmed that Raut’s response to the clarification request was satisfactory, making any further action unnecessary.
