KATHMANDU: An all-party meeting called by Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chairman Rabi Lamichhane at the Parliament Secretariat in Singha Durbar ended without consensus on Monday, ensuring that the ongoing deadlock in the Federal Parliament will continue.

While RSP General Secretary Kabindra Burlakoti welcomed the dialogue as a positive step, the opposition firmly rejected the ruling party’s proposal to have Lamichhane and Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal brief the house on recent India visits and border disputes.

Instead, the opposition maintains that they will continue obstructing parliamentary proceedings until Prime Minister Balendra Shah personally addresses the sovereign parliament to clarify his controversial statements regarding the Nepal-India border and the Eminent Persons Group (EPG) report.

Despite Lamichhane’s briefing on his own recent trip to India and his appeals for shared understanding to resume regular legislative activities, opposition leaders noted that the RSP lacked a clear stance, leaving the critical issues of the border dispute and the parliamentary stalemate entirely unresolved.
