KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress parliamentary party leader Bhishma Raj Angdembe and Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal held talks on Tuesday, discussing the Sunsari violence, disaster response, parliamentary affairs, and the safety of healthcare workers.

The meeting, held at the Speaker’s office in Singha Durbar, also covered current political developments and parliamentary operations.

During the discussion, Angdembe stressed the need for effective measures to maintain law and order following the Sunsari incident. He also called for stronger government and parliamentary efforts to ensure timely rescue, relief, and rehabilitation for people affected by floods, landslides, and other natural disasters, including those in Panchthar.

The opposition leader also raised concerns over the ongoing protest by healthcare workers following the alleged mistreatment of doctors at Narayani Hospital, urging steps to ensure the safety of medical personnel and the uninterrupted delivery of health services.
