KATHMANDU: The Secretariat meeting of CPN-UML began in Gundu today, with senior party leaders continuing discussions on the current political situation and internal party matters.

Leaders who were unable to speak during Friday’s session are presenting their views in today’s meeting. Nine party secretaries are scheduled to address the gathering following remarks from Deputy General Secretaries Yogesh Bhattarai, Raghubir Mahaseth, and Lekhraj Bhatta.

During Friday’s discussions, four of the party’s five vice-chairpersons reportedly advised party chairperson KP Sharma Oli to step down from the leadership position and support efforts toward restructuring the party organization.

After concluding discussions on the political situation, the meeting is expected to move forward with agendas related to the division of responsibilities within the party and the formation of a task force to review recent election results.
